Mermaid Diving is part of the family run business Mermaid Pleasure Trips running out of Penzance, Cornwall. As you are probably aware, Cornwall is renowned for its diverse and abundant wreck and reef diving along with fantastic and unusual wildlife diving. All this is on our doorstep in Penzance! We use a wide selection of dive sites including little known ones that come from our expert local knowledge.

So why choose Mermaid Diving? Well quite simply we pride ourselves on our professionalism. Our boats are fully MCA coded and driven by commercially endorsed skippers that know the dive sites. You have peace of mind knowing that the people taking you diving know exactly what they are doing.

Our Dive Manager, Gio is experienced and passionate about diving and enjoys sharing his expert knowledge with fellow divers or those who wish to learn. Gio learnt to dive in Australia, completed his Advanced Open Water in Sicily and undertook all of his professional training right here in Cornwall. He is familiar with our local waters and can confidently guide you through interesting and exciting dive sites.

Mermaid Diving use Instructors and Divemasters who have dived in Cornwall and Penzance for many years. Their knowledge and experience is invaluable and So what are you likely to see? Well, we regularly spot dolphins, porpoises, basking sharks, seals and sun fish on our way to the dive sites. During the dive there is an abundance of life to see. “Some of the best dives I have had here in Cornwall have been spent lying on the bottom of the ocean letting the fish come to me!” You can expect to see plenty of starfish, sea urchins, spider crabs, edible crabs and velvet swimming crabs. Nudibranchs (more commonly known as sea slugs), hard coral such as dead man's fingers and the rare pink sea fans can even be found around our stunning coast. Beautiful anemone's such as jewel anenomes and snake-lock anemones, jelly fish, lobsters, cuttlefish, cod, wrasse, rays, soles and conger eels are all there plus much, much more! Cornwall boasts thousands of shipwrecks, old and new, that have fallen prey to our rich and rugged coastline over the years. They have left us with some amazing and interesting shipwrecks to dive. If you haven't dived in Cornwall before you will be surprised and delighted at the level of aquatic life that can be seen in British waters.

At Mermaid Diving we take bookings for solo divers and groups. We can easily find you a buddy of equal experience to dive with on the day if required. Or if you prefer you can have a Guided Dive from one of our experienced guides (see The Right Type of Dive For You tab above).

Mermaid Diving also offer Scuba Reviews. If you haven't dived for a while, and need a bit of a refresher in the comfort of a swimming pool before getting back into the sea, then this is just for you! We will get you safely and confidently back into diving (see The Right Type of Dive For You tab above).

Try dives are an excellent way to get into diving and see if it is for you! Enjoyed by the old and young alike, try dives are great fun and a good introduction to the diving world (see The Right Type of Dive For You tab above).
